Job Purpose
Health and Safety Officer required for a busy retail company with its head office in West Dublin
The ideal candidate will (among other things):
- Have a minimum of a third level diploma qualification in Occupational Health and Safety
- Have a minimum of 3 years experience working as a Health and Safety officer in a face paced environment
- Be competent in conducting Health and Safety inspections, in order to ensure that the company is meeting all legislative and system requirements
- Be responsible for monitoring and enforcing the use of safe systems of work including Personal Protective Equipment as necessary
- Be capable of drafting safety statements and be able to advise and implement compliance in matters of Health and Safety in stores in accordance with Company policy and relevant statutory provisions
- Support the review and development of method statements, risk assessments and safe systems of work
- Be capable of delivering Health and Safety / Covid-19 induction programmes for new employees
- Support site teams and departments in the investigation and reporting of accidents and incidents as required ensuring any learning points are communicated
- Assist with the identification of H&S training needs for the company
- Deliver and complete statutory notifications to the HSAI etc. for incidents/ accident reporting
- Assist in the development and implementation of behavioural safety programmes
- Work as a member of a the team in helping to implement and carry out all company working practices as well as Health, Safety and Environmental procedures
- Have excellent leadership, communication, training and presentation skills
- Have excellent computer skills and be proficient in the use of Microsoft office
- Be highly organised in the filing of all the company's Health and Safety data
- Be proactive with a can do attitude and have the ability to work on your own initiative
- Be flexible to the needs of the company
