Digital Buyer required for a large retailer with their head office based in Dublin.
The Ideal candidate will (amongst other things)
Have a 3rd Level Qualification in preferably a buying or management related course.
Have a minimum of 2 years experience working in the retail sector with a good understanding of licensing, buying and business work experience.
Have the ability to multi task with good project planning skills.
Have excellent organisational, communicational, presentation and problem solving skills.
Have the ability to delegate in a clear and concise manner.
Have strong analytical skills.
Have excellent computer skills and a good understanding of applications including MS Office Suite.
The key objectives are (but not limited to):
Developing and executing product demand plans to meet organisational goals ensuring forecasts are in place and within budget.
Negotiating with suppliers on best price and margin for the
product and ensuring suppliers delivery in accordance with the
specification to guarantee quality product and on time delivery.
Sourcing, selecting and managing new product introductions.
Analysing past sales patterns to anticipate trends in consumer
buying patterns.
Identifying key strategic licenses and events whilst maintaining
a rolling 6-month promotional planning calendar.
Ensuring all pricing and deals are competitive within Ireland as
well as online while maintaining a positive margin.
This role is ideally suited to someone with experience in buying and selling in a senior role, merchandising and has a strong appreciation for the digital audience.
They must enjoy the challenge of working in a fast paced environment where the focus is on continuous improvement.
They will be responsible for the range in their stores throughout Ireland and available through its online store and will report directly to the head of purchasing.
