Architectural Technician


Job Purpose

Architectural Technician / Technologist required for an architectural company based in Navan Co. Meath .

The practice works mainly on small and large scale residential developments.

The ideal candidate will (among other things):

  • Be a qualified Architectural Technician / Technologist.
  • Have a Degree/Diploma in Architectural Technology (preferred) or relevant architectural qualification from an Irish college or university.
  • Have a minimum of 5 years post qualification experience.
  • Have excellent AutoCAD skills. (having Revit and SketchUp experience is an advantage).
  • Have strong technical skills and understanding.
  • Be capable of producing planning, tender, and construction documentation for housing estates and apartment developments.
  • Have experience of preparing planning stage drawings and documentation.
  • Have a good knowledge of the Irish Planning system and Building Regulations.
  • Ensure full compliance with Irish Building Regulations and BCAR across all project stages.
  • Have an applied knowledge of Irish planning guidance, including DMURSUrban Design ManualApartment GuidelinesSRDUA, and Building Height Guidelines.
  • Have experience working on large scale residential projects. This is a distinct advantage.
  • Liaise with consultants, contractors, and local authorities.
  • Be organised, have good communication skills and have the ability to adopt a pragmatic approach in dealing with clients and their staff.
  • Be highly motivated, be good working as part of a team and have a flexible working approach to the company's needs.
  • Have the ability to work on your own initiative.
  • Have excellent English both written and verbal.
  • Have your own transport to attend site inspections and design team meetings as required.
  • Be trustworthy and ensure client confidentiality at all times
  • Be easily able to commute to the office in Navan Co. Meath daily.

This is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to work with a busy company in the Navan area.

The candidate will be required to visit clients' construction sites on a regular basis.
