Gibbons Recruitment is currently recruiting an experienced Horticulturist to join the team at a busy and well-established Garden Centre in Virginia, Co. Cavan.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong interest and knowledge of plants and horticulture who enjoys working in a busy, customer-focused garden centre environment.
The Role
The successful candidate will be involved in the day-to-day operation of the Garden Centre, including:
- Providing customers with knowledgeable advice on plants, trees, shrubs and general horticultural products
- Plant care, maintenance, watering and presentation
- Assisting customers with plant selection and gardening queries
- Maintaining attractive and well-stocked plant displays
- Receiving and organising plant deliveries
- General duties associated with the smooth running of a busy Garden Centre
The Ideal Candidate
- A qualification in Horticulture or relevant practical horticultural experience
- Good knowledge of plants, shrubs, trees and seasonal planting
- Previous experience working in a Garden Centre, nursery or similar environment would be an advantage
- Friendly and confident when dealing with customers
- Reliable, enthusiastic and able to work as part of a team
- A genuine interest in plants, gardening and horticulture
